PLEASUREVILLE RED HAT LADIES

Chapter # 55940

Although the Red Hat Society began as a group for women 50 years and better, we welcome women of all ages.  We are proud to display our red hats and purple regalia while the under 50 (pink hatters) display their pink hats and lavender attire.

WhoWeArelogo.jpgOur charter membership was created on April 17, 2005, for the ladies of our congregation or any lady wishing to become a "red hatter".  Interested ladies who were not able to attend the "daytime" planned events, have the opportunity to become a member of our "evening group".   Our daytime members schedule their events on the third Tuesday of the month.  Our evening members schedule their events on the second Tuesday evening of the month (subject to change).  We have a combined picnic in June and a combined Christmas party in December.

Greetings from the Royal Court,

I was hoping to share some thought provoking words, especially since we celebrate Independence Day, commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776.

However, here it is in the middle of July and I am just posting my thoughts.

Independence Day is the only holiday that celebrates the United States.

John Adams wrote to his wife, Abigail:

The second day of July, 1776, will be the most memorable epoch in the history of America.  I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival.  It ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty.  It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forever more.

Adam's prediction was off by 2 days.  However, most of us celebrate with family and friends, having picnics, barbecues, and watching the fireworks.

I hope you had a wonderful Fourth of July.  Never forget that 'Freedom is never free,' and thank God for the freedoms for which we have been blessed.

Queen Sylvia
